Over the past five years, the annual Retail Innovation Conference has brought industry executives to New York City to address disruption and change in the retail industry. We understand how uniquely the retail industry has been impacted by the current crisis, but we also know just how resilient, determined and innovative this community is. So, while we regret the need to cancel this year’s Retail Innovation Conference (October 19-21, 2020), we remain committed to finding innovative new ways to help members of the retail industry connect, support one another, and learn from each other.
Unfortunately, recent developments have made it impossible to effectively execute an event that delivers the level of connection, education, and customer value our community expects. This is due to developments regarding COVID-19 that we are all familiar with at this point, including, but not limited to, the latest government measures, including guidelines on the phased reopening plans in the U.S.; the number of confirmed cases worldwide and domestically; current quarantines, containment areas, stay at home orders, and restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies.
Therefore, driven by our responsibility to produce a great event and best serve the interests of our retail community, we made the decision to cancel #RIC20.
But that does not mean we won’t have an opportunity to connect. Like the retail innovators who inspire us, we too are adapting and getting ready to launch our best virtual experience yet: Retail Innovation Conference Online, October 13-14, 2020!
We are tapping into our digital roots, and building upon more than a decade of immersive, engaging and educational live and digital events to plan an online experience that delivers the best of all worlds. Retail Innovation Conference Online will feature: top-notch content, presented by leading industry experts; access to world-class solution providers; 1:1 networking opportunities; hands-on, and much more.
We will be providing agenda updates and more details in the coming weeks and months.
