Lead, Strategy, Operations and Go-to-Market Initiatives, Google Commerce
Martha Welsh (she/her) leads strategy, operations and go-to-market initiatives for Google Commerce, which includes Google’s shopping, travel and payments products. Previously, she led x-company strategic initiatives for Google. Martha sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, business and technology, and leadership and organizational development (also known as her happy place). Since joining Google in 2011, she has had a career leading product, partnerships and strategy and operations teams across the Company. Prior to joining Google, Martha worked at Goldman Sachs in New York in Investment Banking, and she started her career at a think tank. She is a graduate of Princeton University, where she studied Public Policy and International Affairs, with a focus on cities. She also holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Until May 2021, Martha served on the Board of Directors of Gojek, an Indonesian-based ridesharing, food delivery and payments platform valued at $12B, and is passionate about understanding and building for users everywhere. She is originally from Louisiana and now lives in Palo Alto with her husband, two children, her dog, Barkley, and an unreasonably large supply of Lucky Charms cereal.
