Graduated in Business Administration at University of Pernambuco (Brazil) and holds a M.Sc. in Accounting and Auditory at University of Aveiro (Portugal). Following a career in the financial sector in Brazil he accumulates 17 years of experience in innovation management in Europe and USA, serving in management and leadership positions throughout government agencies, universities, start-ups, large corporations and clusters, plus successfully creating businesses and acting as an experienced consultant. He nowadays leads the R&D and incentives Department at Sonae, a multinational corporation based in Portugal, leading the team who manages annually around 25 M € in R&D investment while engaging the group subholdings into collaborative projects in the fields of R&D and Innovation, Sustainability and Human Resources. Other executive positions include being Vice-president of Portic, a non-profit Think-tank for Portuguese internationalization of tech-based companies; and Vice-president of Colab B2E, a government funded Collaborative Laboratory dedicated to the Blue Bioeconomy that gathers companies and research institutions around applied R&D related to the sea resources.
