Louisa Schneider

Louisa Serene Schneider is the founder and CEO of Rowan. Louisa was looking for a safe and celebratory piercing experience for her young daughter. After researching all ear piercing options and conferring with family, nurses and doctors, she learned what a common rite of passage transcending cultures and religions ear piercing was, but the industry was not well-regulated; she launched Rowan in 2017 to modernize the experience and make the procedure safer, more reliable, and celebratory. Today Rowan has opened almost 40 locations throughout the US – highly-designed experiential retail spaces strategically-placed next to TikTok-favorite brands like Luluemon and Kendra Scott – exclusively offering nurse-led ear piercing for everyone from infants to centenarians. With a background in finance, Louisa always had a keen interest in retailers with an eye on the consumer experience. Louisa covered consumer and retail at JP Morgan before receiving her MBA from Columbia Business School. She then went back to Morgan Stanley and traded retail. Rowan has raised $35M in venture funding.
