Vice President of Marketing
Bill Cunningham is vice president of marketing at JCPenney. In his role, Bill leads the Company’s brand strategy, media optimization and retail marketing. Bill has more than 20 years of diverse marketing experience including brand strategy, marketing planning, e-commerce, media, CRM and product management, with nearly half of his career spent at JCPenney. Since joining the Company in 2012, Bill has held roles of increasing responsibility within the marketing department. In his time at the Company, he’s led several apparel, footwear and home brand launches, media optimization strategies, process improvement initiatives and promotional and event planning. Most notably, he oversaw all marketing activities for more than 20 brand launches in two years and the development of customer led marketing strategy for JCPenney. Prior to joining JCPenney, Bill spent seven years at Lennox in roles focusing on B2B sales and marketing and product management where he oversaw the launch of industry leading products and developed product roadmaps for Lennox’ Residential product lines. His prior experience in both B2B and B2C sales and marketing has helped him develop a well-rounded approach to customer led marketing. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from University of Texas at Dallas.
