Curlanista is a hair care brand founded by 15-year-old Lexi Proctor and her Co-founder mother, Monica Proctor, in an effort to care for Lexi’s natural born curls. The brand focuses on encouraging young girls to embrace their curls and give them products that treat and enhance them. The young CEO was selected by Verizon to be featured in their #Weneedmore initiative which exposes youth to careers in STEM and entrepreneurship. In Lexi’s public service announcement with Verizon she shared her story on being a kidpreneur. Lexi uses her platform to inspire other kids to follow their dreams. Since then Lexi has been invited to speak at schools and other forums inspiring other kids to pursue their goals. As a motivational speaker, Lexi provides inspiration and captivates audiences when she delivers dynamic messages at conferences, seminars, and workshops. She is frequently called on to speak to youth groups about self -esteem and self-confidence. Lexi is super excited about her latest business venture. She taught girls how to love their hair in her debut book, Curly Girls Love Your Curls now she wants to show them how to care for their natural coils. Launching her Magic Curlanista Hair Line she plans to expand her message even further by entering the beauty and hair care world. In 2018, Curlanistas was the selected brand for Sally Beauty’s Cultivate – For Women by Women accelerator program. Being the selected brand was truly an honor and got her products in front of Sally Beauty Consumers around the world. With Lexi’s background as a STEM student, her and her mom took their homemade concoctions and developed a hair care line to help girls’ curls pop non-stop!
