Johnny Earle got his start by selling quirky, cupcake-themed T-shirts from the trunk of his beat up ’89 Toyota Camry.

Two decades later, Johnny Cupcakes (the brand he built after his nickname) has garnered a cult-like following thanks to his quirky designs and timely launches with pop-culture brands like The Simpsons, Stranger Things and Hocus Pocus. Johnny Cupcakes now boasts a robust ecommerce site, traveling pop-up shops and a growing network of “T-shirt bakeries” that feature products on baking trays and in vintage ovens.
