What to Expect at the Retail Innovation Summit: The Connecting Point for Omnichannel Executives & CX Leaders

If you’re trying to navigate industry disruption and build a new roadmap for brand differentiation, look no further! We’re gathering the top senior leaders from a variety of retailers, brands and analyst firms to give you the insights you need to master your omnichannel strategy, customer and employee experiences and embrace the new era of community-driven commerce.

The Retail Innovation Summit will feature three concurrent tracks in the conference rooms at McCormick Place in Chicago. This year, the same tracks will run on June 14 and 15 for a greater focus on executive learnings and actionable trend-based takeaways. All track sessions will be 45-minutes each, including Q&A time to enhance audience engagement and interaction with the speakers. We know how valuable collaboration is and highly encourage Q&A throughout the event and through our mobile app.

Reminder: With an All-Access Pass, you’ll be able to participate in ALL three of our conference programs (Retail Innovation Summit, IRCE, and Design:Retail). We’ve curated the agenda programming to make it easy and valuable for all team members across groups and functions to attend, too. (Group rates are available so you can divide and conquer!)

Our team makes weekly updates to our site so be sure to check out the full agenda and see what’s new for #RICE23. But for now, let’s give you the inside scoop on each of the tracks and speakers to begin preparing for.

Designing & Optimizing Your Omnichannel Roadmap

Interested in exploring the best of hot and new and tried-and-true business strategies? This track is designed to spotlight different paths for omnichannel growth and how different brands and retailers are incorporating new consumer behaviors, new technologies and new channels into their efforts.

The goal will be to feature a variety of retail analysts and brand practitioners at different stages of growth, as well as different value drivers to showcase how varied the journey can be.

The Next Wave of Loyalty: Customer & Employee Experience

Say goodbye to one-size-fits all promos and hello to data-driven experiences! This track is designed to showcase the new drivers of customer and employee loyalty, and how issues like equity, inclusion, culture and values all play a role in developing an approach that is optimized for the brand and all stakeholders.

Data will obviously be an underlying narrative point within this track, as the key to responding to customer and employee needs is understanding what they want to begin with.

Speakers sharing their insights in this track include:

  • Brendan Witcher, Vice President, Principal Analyst, Forrester Research
  • Esther Sarpong, Director, Experiential Retail, Brookfield Properties
  • Jack Stratten, Head of Trends, Insider Trends

Connecting Content, Community & Commerce

Commerce is embedded into our daily lives. Through technology and physical experiences, we have access to an endless variety of brands and products. But in order to capitalize on these new commerce opportunities, brands and retailers need to immerse consumers in the experience by bringing content and community into the mix. The result is a passionate group of shoppers who feel truly connected to the business.

Back by popular demand (personally, one of my favorites), this track will explore the new channels and touch points for forging new brand connections, and the brands that are winning in this quickly evolving arena.

Speakers you can expect to learn from include:

  • Phillip Jackson, Co-Founder, Future Commerce
  • Brian Lange, Co-Founder, Future Commerce
  • Evan Moore, SVP, Commerce Partnerships, NBCUniversal
  • Tanya Brinich, Senior Director of Resale-As-A-Service (Raas) Client Success, thredUP
