The 40 Under 40 Awards has become one of Retail TouchPoints‘ top awards programs and we’re thrilled to welcome a new class of winners for 2024! The goal for the awards is simple: to spotlight the emerging retail practitioners and aspiring executives who are already making an incredible impact in the industry.
Now, when we talk about impact, we look at it through a few different lenses:
- Organizational impact: The change they’ve been able to drive within the four walls of their business. This could be in the form of a new project, initiative or system they advocated for.
- Community impact: The work they’ve done to sponsor, mentor and elevate others within the retail industry, either through specific organizations or one-to-one relationship building.
- Social and environmental impact: The ways they’ve contributed their time, labor and love into a specific social and/or environmental cause that helps connect the industry to bigger (and in some cases, more important) issues.
Past Winners Making an Impact
Last year, we saw an outpouring of nominations from across the industry, highlighting the incredible work young leaders have done to not just support their businesses but their communities too. For example, Matthew Goodfriend of GameStop was lauded for his work supporting nonprofit organizations like Ronald McDonald House and Make-a-Wish. Elizabeth Jones of Princess Polly was nominated for the incredible work she has done to become a trusted expert within the business (and the industry) on sustainability and ethical sourcing. Joe Schafran was recognized for his dedication to mentoring members of his organization, MG2, and contributing to their charitable initiatives.
These are just three of 40 incredible executives we had the pleasure of spotlighting in 2023, and we’re thrilled to see some incredible nominations so far! My question for you is…do you have someone you want to spotlight? If you do, nominations for the 2024 class close this Monday, April 29! Click here to submit as many nominations as you’d like.
