During the Retail Innovation Conference & Expo, we dug deep into the metaverse and NFTs. Of course, both topics are part of a much bigger conversation around Web 3.0. Although executive leaders have a lot of questions surrounding Web 3.0, they’re also putting a lot of money into understanding it, according to a new survey conducted by Decentralization Deciphered (D2), a subsidiary of Emerald Holding, Inc.

Sure, many have seen the words “Web 3.0,” “blockchain” and even NFTs in news headlines, articles and market projections, but there is still a lot to understand about these topics and the overall decentralized finance (DeFi) space. The D2 Summit was formed to foster an open forum for technology and finance leaders to converge and discuss the implications of the booming Web 3.0 space. Because Retail TouchPoints and Retail Innovation Conference & Expo are sister brands to The D2 Summit, we’re happy to support the event and generate some buzz for those interested in digging into the space. (Not to mention, qualified members of our community can register using the exclusive code RTP50 to get 50% off the ticket price. Who doesn’t love to save a few bucks?)

CEOs, CIOs, CFOs and other executives involved in Web 3.0, digital assets, blockchain, the metaverse and other related technologies can now request an invitation to the summit, which will be held Oct. 18-19, 2022, at Convene One Liberty Plaza in New York City. The agenda will hit on everything from cybersecurity to finance and customer experience and feature insights from notable leaders in the space including:

  • John Liu, Head of Product, Web3 & Blockchain, Amazon Web Services
  • Shirley Gao, Chief Information Officer, PacSun
  • Farhan Memon, Vice President/Digital Asset Security, Mastercard
  • Michelle Grant, Director, Retail and Consumer Goods, Salesforce
  • Willayna Banner, Head of Web3/Blockchain, Microsoft
  • Cody Carbone, Chief Policy Officer, Chamber of Digital Commerce
  • Jason Schwartz, Tax Partner/Head of Digital Assets & Blockchain, Fried Frank

Shameless plug: I’m also thrilled to join the event, moderating a panel featuring Michelle Grant of Salesforce and Chris Silver, Co-founder of BambuMeta. We’ll be chatting about how NFTs impact customer experiences, loyalty creation and building fandom within shopper communities. Will I see you there?
