Regrettably, we are canceling the 2021 Retail Innovation Conference (#RIC21), originally scheduled to take place October 4-6, 2021 in New York City. Our team has been in communication with our retail community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and over the last several months closely discussing the impact of the pandemic on our industry. Our decision to cancel was made in light of COVID-19-related challenges affecting our community, including ongoing restrictions on corporate travel, supply chain disruptions, impacted line breaks, and overall budget constraints.
Based on surveys and feedback from one-to-one conversations with attendees, sponsors and speakers, it became clear that business conditions resulting from COVID-19 disruptions compelled us to pivot and return to face-to-face events in Q1 of 2022, rather than 2021.
While we won’t be hosting an in-person version of #RIC21, we are excited to announce that we will be expanding our virtual event — the Retail Innovation Conference Online Experience, which will take place Nov. 16-17, 2021. We have plans for an expanded agenda and new online matchmaking and networking capabilities for the online event and will be building upon the success of our 2020 virtual conference and the great feedback we received.
